God of War Origins – Game Review

Posted by in Games

God of War Origins is the PS3 release of the two PSP God of War titles, Chains of Olympus from 2008 and Ghost of Sparta from 2010 with updated graphics.  Since I never planned to buy another portable gaming system I was really waiting for this combo pack to be released, and since I rejoined Game Access I was able to have them send this to me while I was waiting for Dishonored to release. Playing these games it is easy to tell that Chains of Olympus falls squarely between…read more

Star Wars – Force Unleashed 2

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 is a third person action-adventure platform game developed by LucasArts and released in 2010. I really enjoyed Force Unleashed, despite some major bugs with the game so I decided to give the sequel a shot regardless of all the bad reviews it’s gotten.  I think most of the bad press is due to it’s short length, even for me 6.5 hours is a short game of this type.  It really seems as if the developer ran out of time/money/resources and was forced to just…read more

Prince of Persia Warrior Within – Game Review

I’ve been playing Prince of Persia Warrior Within at work during lunches, and I think that is the best way to consume this content for me.  I can only really handle the frustration in small doses, and while this game isn’t as frustrating as Sands of Time was, it still has a lot. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time – Game Review

Always on the cutting edge this past week I played the 8 year old Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time game for PC. The updated graphics were a really nice touch, too bad they didn’t update anything else like the terrible camera controls. As much as I loved the platforming in the game, I hated the combat.  I think it’s due mostly to the controls being relative to the camera and the camera being not fixed.  So you’d be fighting and just about to do a move and the…read more

Heavy Rain – Game Review

Posted by in Games

I was a little skeptical at first when I played the demo for Heavy Rain.  I don’t really like Quick Time Events (QTE) because I feel I’m not looking at what is actually happening anymore, all I’m doing is looking for a controller symbol to press within the given time.  God of War 3 made this much better by putting the 4 symbols in screen locations that corresponded to the location of each button on the controller but that wouldn’t have worked for Heavy Rain. What did work was that…read more
